The Strange Library by Haruki Murakami

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Synopsis

A lonely boy, a mysterious girl, and a tormented sheep man plot their escape from the nightmarish library.

Very Creepy

This book was eerie and I loved it. The characters and the setting that was painted by Murakami really puts things into perspective for the reader.
The characters very unique and strange, and I mean strange in the best way possible. The whole concept of the book was very intriguing, actually.

I Must Admit

I didn’t really know how this strange library came to be. I had several questions by the time I finished the book. Why didn’t anybody know about this secret underground to the library? Who was this old man and how did he come to be in the business of kidnapping? Where did the sheep man and the mysterious girl come from?
Why wasn’t the boy’s mother worried about him or ask any questions when he returned?
Suspense in the book wasn’t a problem. I definitely finished it quickly because I wanted to know what was going to happen. I enjoyed it and I thought it was mystical and well written. Or maybe I should say translated well. I’ll have to read more of Murakami’s books to get the flow of his writing.
