Are You Frickin Kidding Me?
I tried. I really tried. It’s like this installment didn’t correlate with the first one. The entire plot of the book revolved around a new monster that wasn’t hinted towards in the first at all.
We new nothing of it’s origin. Nothing at all. From the very beginning I was confused. Kate was in a new city with new “friends” that we really didn’t know anything about. This book was just poorly structured and incongruent with the plot.
The ending, I’m okay with. Because at least that part was unpredictable and I’m not really a sucker for happy endings. I also respect that love wasn’t a factor of this book. After all, who has time to focus on love when monsters of every kind are around every corner. Get real people.
The only new character I liked was Soro. That he/she was cool. I think adding a new Sunai was a good move on Schwab’s part.
After finishing this book, I can’t help but feel that I haven’t really read anything. For the book to be 500 pages, it felt like their was no substance to it. Overall, It took me forever to finish this because I just wasn’t into it.
