⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Synopsis:
When Rob, the charismatic leader of the senior class, decides to turn the class nerd into Prince Charming, his cruel challenge leads to violence and death.
My Review:
I flew through this book faster than usual and not because of the slightly larger font, but because of the suspenseful content. The concept was culturally relevant which made it all the more satisfying.
The characters were profound and distinctive. I loved that they each had their own dilemmas. The book didn’t just focus the spot light on one character, but devoted sub plots to everyone. There is always a deeper story behind tragedies like this, and I believe Gail Giles expounds on that wonderfully.
I saw the method of projecting, servants role, tactics of fear, and manipulation while I was reading this book. Such a eye opener to the audience.
The ending was genius. You aren’t left on a cliffhanger because of the intro comments that Gail gives us before each chapter begins. We have a chance to allow things to unravel and put them together ourselves.
To say the least, I enjoyed this book and found it riveting considering the short amount of pages Gail used. Would love to see a movie adaption to this.
