Oblivion Road by Alex McAulay

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Synopsis:

When their SUV crashes on an unmarked road, five stranded teens struggle to survive the harsh weather and must battle for their lives against an escape group of convicts.

What I Think:
Okay!!! This book had me on the edge of my bed, couch, and the chair in my school library.
Honestly couldn't put it down because I had to see what would happen next. A couple things didn't add up, but it could be easily overlooked when you weigh it against the suspense in the book.

Likes:
I liked the fact that their was content in this book that I didn't expect. Alex McAulay took a cliché concept and added a ton of things you would never see coming. There were literally moments in the book when my mouth was just wide open and I couldn't believe what I was reading. This book was nail biting.
The characters were shockingly realistic. Everyone stayed in character. McAulay did a good job of gradually building all the scenes up and building all the chracters up to the climax. Although I could predict a lot of the story, initially, it didn't take the edge away.

Dislikes:
There wasn't much I didn't like about this book. I wished it was longer, to show the return of the survivors. A tiny glimpse as to what it would be like getting back into the threads of life after facing death. I wanted a little follow up. What would happen to Reyna, how would everyone react to the news of Jeremy? Other than that, no complaints.
