Synopsis:
Penelope Marx thinks her wildest dreams have finally come true when Keats, the cutest guy at school, asks her out. He makes her feel beautiful, something she's never felt before; but after awhile the relationship changes from a fairytale setting to a big fat mistake.
She's lost her two best friends, Audrey and Eph in the process, and those seem to be the greatest heartbreaks for her.
She is torn between letting in the one person that cares for her, or letting the heartbreak emotionally cripple her and scare her away from something amazing.

First time I've ever cried off a romance novel. I finished this book in about two days. I couldn't put it down, even though I had important things to do... But no 'ragrets'!!Penelope is genuine and in no way perfect, she makes tons of mistakes. She knows this, and like most of us, beats herself up for it; but then like only a few of us, she busts her butt to try to make it right with the people she loves.
I loved the fact that every character was so well put together. Leder made it easy to visualize everything and everyone. I'm pretty sure that down the road in life, I'll think this was a movie I saw rather than a book that I read.
The dialogue was phenomenal. The internal dialogue as well. This book had substance. Beautiful sentences and meaningful reflection. Leder put in tons of relatable quotes that really made me think and touched a soft part of my heart. I enjoyed this read. No loose ends left, but the possibility that things may or may not work out was implied. Which I liked.

Quotes From the Book:
"Things change, Penelope; people change. Sometimes you get hurt. And sometimes you're the one doing the hurting."
"I wished I could go back to the time before I ever knew things could be broken."
"Eph's copy of Watchmen, the one that Keats first noticed, the one that made Eph go all fanboy every time he talked about it, the one I read because that's what you do for the people you love."
