So for some reason I have been reading suicidal books from back to back. (No I am not suicidal so calm down & please don't call a hotline on me ✋🏽)
I have read all of these and I will be giving my ratings & reviews on them.
1) My Heart & Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga
Finding loads of grammatical errors did not contribute to my liking of this book.. It wasn't horrible, but I didn't like it either. Moved kinda slow & dragged out the fact that the main female character was hesitant about telling her friend about her criminal father. I guess they had to drag it out since that became the main focus of the book. Like he doesn't care, it's not a big deal, just tell him... It was rather annoying. The whole book was based on them gallivanting around town. 2.5 out of 5 stars .
2) Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick
Let me just begun by saying Matthew is a great writer. I loved the humor in this book despite the concept of it. It's hard to make a reader laugh but still understand the sadness behind that laughter & take this book seriously. What Leonard feels is relative. & that's how Matthew lures you in. This book was great & didn't have one dull moment. Leonard is a memorable realistic character. 4.5 out of 5 stars.
3) Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
This is a pretty old novel. I'm sure almost everyone has read it. But I'd still like to give my review since it was such a great read! 👌🏽 When I first found out the main character was a female, I was sort of dreading this book, but because I really liked the concept of it, I purchased it anyone. & boy, it did NOT disappoint me! This book has made me remember how it feels to be hurt , but it's also made me think twice before speaking or acting, lest I hurt anyone else. This read is fragile & beautiful.
4) All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
I have tons of sticky tabs in this book. From Quotes, to lovely chapters! I can't reveal to much about it, you just have to read to find out! My rating is 4.5 out of 5 for this one!
5) Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang
My rating for this one was 3 stars. I enjoyed it at some points and then at others it was just a repeat of so many other books. I felt like I was reading "If I Stay". It was hard to keep up with the sequence of the chapters because it was all so out of order. Too much was going on. Their wasn't enough detail and a lot of questions went unanswered.
